Position Summary:
The Life Cycle Assessment Technician will be part of a team that delivers product sustainability verification services and will be focused on Life Cycle Assessment based solutions for our products. This role will be responsible for the creation, critical review and verification of Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), Product Carbon Footprints (PCFs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and will provide support to other internal and external project delivery resources. External relationships will be an important part of the position, with a requirement to liaise with our company stakeholders, industry stakeholders, representatives from partner organizations. The Life Cycle Assessment Technician will also support new and existing program development efforts.
We are looking for a Lifecycle Assessment Practitioner with the following responsibilities:
- This role is hybrid with an expectation to spend three days a week in our Manesar India plant and two days a week working diligently from home.
- Supports leadership in defining the interpretation, application and uniformity of technical methods, techniques and requirements applied and validating results.
- Acts as lead developer for PCF and EPD projects.
- Develops ISO compliant LCA study reports, PCFs and EPDs.
- Collaborates with Business Development to share market trends and identify commercial opportunities.
- Assists in development of new programs and supports implementation of new programs that are developed by the Sustainability Group.
- Drives and delivers on continuous improvement, efficiency, and automation of service delivery.
- Stays on top of LCA and carbon market trends, especially regulations, standards and frameworks related to carbon accounting.
- Responsible for the implementation of technical interpretation, application, training and uniformity of technical methods, techniques, and requirements in assigned geography and/or Industry. Develops guidelines, procedures and programs for internal operational adherence.
- Conducts webinars, presentations, technical trainings and workshops in region for internal and external stakeholders.
- May manage the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives and goals, providing feedback and guidance and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.
Responsibilities of Position:
- Conduct & Deliver LCAs: Carry out in-depth Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) to quantify the environmental impacts of products, processes, and systems. Communicate actionable insights to clients through clear reports and presentations.
- Identify Improvement Opportunities: Analyze LCA data to pinpoint carbon hotspots and recommend data-driven strategies for reducing environmental impact.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients to drive end-to-end sustainability improvements.
Qualifications
- LCA Experience: Proven track record with 10+ years in a consulting role, conducting multiple Life Cycle Assessments across various industries.
- LCA Software Mastery: In-depth proficiency with industry-standard LCA software (e.g., SimaPro, GaBi, OpenLCA).
- Technical Skills (Optional): Proficiency in at least five of the following: Typescript, React, Next js, Python, Brightway, Fast API, SQL (SQLite & Postgres), Infra: AWS / Railway, Docker, Tooling (Github, JIRA).
- ESG Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of ESG frameworks and ability to translate environmental data into ESG reporting metrics.
- Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional communication and presentation skills. Ability to translate complex data into insights and build strong client relationships.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- University Degree (Bachelor's degree) in Environmental Science, Information Technologies, or related field
- Prefers a Master’s degree (or higher) in: Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field with a strong emphasis on LCA.
- 5+ years of experience on Product Carbon Footprint and Life Cycle Assessment related projects either in a climate-related consulting position or an in-house sustainability role
- LCA experience including creating and verifying LCAs to ISO 14044, ISO 14040 and relevant PCRs
- Knowledge and previous use of standards and frameworks that relate to the carbon foot printing of products (ISO 14067, PAS 2050, GHG Protocol, Catena-X) and Environmental Product Declaration (ISO 14025, ISO 21930, EN 15804)
- Strong working knowledge of LCA software such as GaBi, is essential
- Accreditation as a Life Cycle Assessment Certified Professional (LCACP) or similar is a plus

Polish language is a must.
