Position Summary:
Performs a variety of engineering work including such areas as design, production manufacturing, test, calibration and efficiency.
Responsibilities of Position:
- As required by the business, works with various products, equipment and disciplines.
- Gathers, coordinates and applies basic engineering data using established and appropriate or defined engineering principles and procedures.
- Works on complex and somewhat routine assignments to develop skills and demonstrate technical judgment.
- Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct; ensures adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
- May lead and direct the work of others.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
Responsibilities of Position:
- Interface with test requestors for test submissions; enter/track test submissions using laboratory test request database system.
- Configure necessary hardware and specialized test equipment as needed to complete assigned testing and provide technical know-how on particular products.
- Operate systems and specialized test equipment.
- Prepare quotes for requestors.
- Obtain quotes from outside vendors and prepare purchase orders for approval.
- Prepare, review and authorize reports on test results.
- Monitor, update and authorize test processes; assist in the review of test processes, and perform other test-related tasks.
- Provide technical expertise in testing and product knowledge.
- Write and authorize test procedures when required. Develop and maintain test plans.
Skill Requirements:
- 1-4 years related work experience.
- Self-directed with a high degree of self- motivation.
- Proficient computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Education:
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and is disciplined in their application.
- Minimum of BSME required.
