Position Summary:

This is the highest level of manufacturing management reporting to Plant Manager, the Production Leaders in the Plant must report directly to this job if it exists, and the job must have responsibility for at least two other major functional departments (examples include HR, Accounting, Purchasing, Scheduling and Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality) in addition to manufacturing. If this job is occupied there cannot be a Manufacturing Manager at the Plant.


Responsibilities of Position:

1. Oversees the execution of manufacturing schedules and the activities of at least two other functional areas in the Plant. Assures the application of all production, test, development, documentation and safety standards.

2. Coordinates with and between manufacturing accounting, production control, engineering, maintenance and other departments in the accomplishment of production goals.

3. Prepares reports and analyses of various cost control, production, labor, quality, staffing, facility, usage and other reports.

4. Ensures prompt and economical receipt of materials, supplies and parts. Ensures company standards and requirements are met.

5. Conducts studies to ensure the Plant continues to operate in a cost efficient manner as technology, legal, regulatory, policy and product changes are implemented.

6. Functions as the Plant Manager when the Plant Manager is absent.

7. Performs such individual assignments as the supervisor may direct; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.

8. Performs those administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the department, including provision for the selection and development of employees, pay administration, budget administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring the work performed within the department and ensures adequate and continuous control is exercised over the activities affecting quality. Actively participates in business and strategic planning of TI Fluid Systems to represent assigned areas of accountability.

9. May lead and direct the work of others.

10. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

11. Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.


Skill Requirements:

9. Self-directed with a high degree of self- motivation.

10. Proficient computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).

11. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

12. In-depth understanding of production administration functions including accounting, engineering and human resources.


Experience Requirements:

1. Experience in two or more ancillary functions such as quality, test, accounting, engineering, sales, HR or purchasing.

2. Broad background in manufacturing technology and line operating experience.


Licensing or Special Certification Requirements:

1. Valid driver's license.


Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to work at a personal computer for extended periods of time.

2. Regularly travels to plant, vendor, and customer sites.


Working Conditions:

1. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently carries up to 30 pounds.

2. Maneuvers in, around, under, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.

3. Some of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending.

4. Works at telephone answering equipment, design equipment, and at a PC.

5. Works within an automotive components manufacturing, office, and laboratory setting and is exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals.

Education:

Bachelors’ Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field.
