Responsibilities of Position:
- Manage orders for purchased components.
- Maintain purchase order files and monitor supplier past due reports.
- Manage the process of purchased receipts, update purchasing files and perform general housekeeping.
- Identify critical requirements, contact suppliers, and verify shipments.
- Analyze and manage inventory levels.
- Planning and releasing requirements for purchased components using the MRP system.
- Problem solves issues as required.
- Coordinate new launch parts and maintain planning parameters.
- Assist in maintaining electronic data systems files (BPCS).
- Supervise shipping/receiving activities & personnel promoting a team atmosphere.
- Enforce company and departmental policies applying discipline when necessary.
- Complete 8D's and 5 Why's as required for any departmental issues/instances.
- Understand and implement lean tools such as pull systems, Kanban, and visual aids.
Skill Requirements:
- Drive continuous improvement.
- Team oriented.
- Meet TS16949 departmental requirements.
- Backup materials manager position.
- Responsible for the cycle count system and effectiveness of this system.
- Manage all returnable containers.
- Must utilize problem-solving skills.
- Maintain material logs on SharePoint and update/create 5 why as needed.
- Monitor production floor, shipping, receiving, and outside grounds on 5S and general housekeeping.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Education:
B.S. degree in Business or other appropriate degree or equivalent work experience required.
