Job TitleRegional Application Engineering Director - Korea Reports toGlobal FCS Engineering Director Main TasksLeading the Engineering organization (within the divisions of FCS/ FDTS/ MAS) in Korea, related to Application Engineering and Application Engineering Technology activities, including local development, testing, and prototyping for TI Fluid Systems product portfolio (existing and new): Thermal Management (lines, connections, including modules with mechatronic for coolant and refrigerant applications, e.g.; valves, pumps, motors, compressor, sensorics)Break & Fuel, including Hydrogen (lines, connections)Cleaning solutions for Autonomous Driving (lines, connections)Fuel Delivery and Fuel Tanks SystemsNew Energy Storage Represent TI Fluid Systems Engineering in manager-level and higher customer meetings, at development partners or suppliers, when appropriate.Responsible for E-Mobility Innovation Center-Korea (Incheon): Active coordination of the E-Mobility Innovation Center implementation and ramp-up, operation, and budgeting. Active promotion of TIFS new products and E-Mobility Innovation Center-Korea to our regional customers, especially at HKMC.Be integral part of engineering development process adaptation or optimization for existing & new products for the global TI Fluid Systems organizationProvide input to product planning strategy (roadmaps) for Advanced, Application Engineering, and Technology Projects. Stay current with trends in technology relevant to the scope of responsibility, identify opportunities to maximize TIFS’s product, and market mix for customers in Korea.Establish and execute engineering objectives which contribute to the achievement of the Company’s strategic objectives.Responsible for budget and head count planning, reallocation of resources as required to optimize the output of the department(s).Reviews and evaluates cost effectiveness, consistency, quality, accuracy, and performance to standards, and acts as necessary to correct discrepancies to ensure execution on time, in spec., and in budget. Establish standard practices for the management of engineering projects in South Korea, as well as transfer knowledge from / to TIFS in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America; generate skill matrix and secure proper trainings for the team with focus on Thermal Management.Clear, timely, and accurate communication with employees and management.  Reports activities of concern to the global structures.Ensure compliance with both the intent and letter of TI Fluid System’s engineering-related policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsProven and successful track record of working within similar role.Significant experience in project management and technology implementation, ability to plan and execute effectively, with leadership, problem solving, quality and strategic driven mindset.Working knowledge of Korean customers, especially for HKMC. Experience of working internationally.Strong communications skills – ability to interact and communicate at all levels, with effective upward and downward communications skills demonstrated to interface with all levels of management. Experience of managing an engineering organization with 40+ employees. Ability and competence to coordinate improvement efforts and drive best practices across multiple locations Education and other technical skillsBachelor’s degree in mechanical, mechatronics engineering, or related engineering field; Master’s degree preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience in product/application engineering.Minimum of 7 years of managerial experience.Experience of managing Automotive Design, Development, and Validation programs. Knowledge and expertise in Thermal Management with focus on BEV, PHEV: Coolant and Refrigerant System architectures: Lines, connections, including modules with mechatronic, e.g.: valves, pumps, motors, compressor, and new energy storage.Good understanding in mechatronics (motor, electronics, software) and its interaction up to high voltage systems. Expertise or certifications with focus on quality, operations, design to cost and design for manufacturing are beneficial. Good knowledge of IATF16949 standards and HKMC Development Process (PSO), as they pertain to this position. LanguagesKorean, English communications are essential
